A creative space in the workplace to build resilience and resourcefulness
Working life is increasingly demanding with stress, depression and anxiety among the leading causes of absence from work (CIPD 2025). Pressure, insecurity, constant change and digital overload leave little room for personal development and expression.
At the same time, the World Economic Forum (2025) identifies creative thinking as one of the top five skills needed for the future. But the work environment is not well set up to make space for imaginative thinking.
The Studio creates that space.
This is a six-week facilitated arts-based programme for teams and small groups to step away from everyday pressures and experience something new. Through simple creative exploration, participants gain insight, equilibrium and a sense of enjoyment while they do it.
The aim isn’t to produce artwork. Instead, the goal is to help people develop
- Resilience
- Self-regulation in stressful situations
- Stronger connection to themselves and each other
- Creative thinking ability
- Tolerance of ambiguity, uncertainty and change
- Fresh insight through experience
How the programme works
A typical Studio programme includes:
- Initial briefing with the organisational sponsor/stakeholders
- 6 x weekly studio sessions
- Groups of up to ten participants
- Creative prompts and art-making (painting, drawing, modelling, animation, etc)
- Time for reflection and optional discussion
- Post-programme reflection and feedback
- All materials are provided, no artistic skill/experience necessary
